Every small projector has limits. Here are ours, so you know exactly what arrives.
Is it bright enough in daylight?
It's built for evenings. With about 290 ANSI lumens the picture looks best with the lights dimmed or after dusk; in a sunlit room it washes out. If you mainly watch in the afternoon, a TV is honestly the better tool.
How loud is the fan?
A quiet fan. You'll hear it in a silent room from up close; as soon as the sound is on and you're on the sofa, it disappears.
720p native – does it still look sharp?
Native 720p, and it accepts 1080p and 4K input. At 100 to 120 inches from the sofa it looks like a big, soft cinema picture, not like a phone screen held up close. If you want to pixel-peep at 135 inches, a native 1080p projector at four times the price is the honest answer.
Do Netflix and YouTube really work on it?
YouTube runs on the projector itself. Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ install from the built-in app store; if a streaming app ever limits playback quality, HDMI from a laptop or stick, or mirroring from your phone, always works. And every seasonal scene in our guide plays from YouTube.
Do I have to fiddle with focus and keystone?
Auto keystone squares the picture when you tilt the stand. Focus is set once by hand with a small ring, a few seconds after you've found your spot. Then it stays.
What about the sound?
The built-in speaker is fine for a bedroom or a scene on the wall. For movie night, pair a Bluetooth speaker or soundbar in ten seconds.
